This message from Two Rivers Church focuses on their vision to make followers of Jesus, rooted in the Great Commission found in Matthew 28. The speaker emphasizes that following Jesus involves denying oneself, taking up one's cross daily, and pursuing Him, as described in Luke. The church aims to make "gospel-centered, word-dependent, Spirit-empowered, and relationally connected followers of Jesus."
The church introduces a "discipleship freeway" with four lanes: "me and Jesus," "we and Jesus," "serving with Jesus," and "gathered with Jesus," designed to help individuals grow in Christ. They discuss community involvement through "serve Saturdays," prayer initiatives like "all in prayer" and "Quiet Waters," and partnerships with local ministries such as Renew Clinic, Isaiah 117 House, and Anchor Learning Center.
The message also covers a potential fourth campus in Oak Ridge, stemming from an opportunity with an Evangelical Free Church. The speaker discusses the church's budget of $4.7 million for the 2024-2025 ministry year, emphasizing that everything belongs to God and followers are called to steward what they have been given. The service concludes with communion, celebrating Jesus' life, death, resurrection, and return.
