Herod's Folly, Wise Men's Pursuit

Grace Community Church · 1:03:03

In this sermon, John MacArthur delves into Matthew 2:1-3, meticulously dissecting the contrasting reactions to the birth of Jesus: Herod's paranoid, murderous folly versus the wise men's persistent, worshipful pursuit. The message unpacks how those in positions of power and religious authority often miss or actively reject divine truth, while humble, seeking hearts from unexpected places are drawn to worship the King of Kings. This analysis challenges listeners to discern their own spiritual posture, urging them to emulate the wise men's diligent search and sincere adoration rather than succumbing to the self-serving fear and spiritual blindness exemplified by Herod. It provides a profound lesson on true wisdom, genuine worship, and the critical importance of responding rightly to the revelation of Christ.
