A man asked Jesus for permission to bury his father. Jesus said no. Too harsh — or did we misread the whole scene? The answer runs from a burial custom in first-century Israel to a limestone bone box discovered under Jerusalem in 1990 — and it ends at a tomb Jesus did NOT refuse.
